You’ve been studying. Consistently. Vocabulary lists, grammar textbooks, Kanji drills. You know a lot of Japanese.

But when you sit down for a practice test, something happens. Time runs out on the reading section. The listening moves too fast. You second-guess answers you were sure about.

This is one of the most frustrating moments in JLPT preparation: the gap between what you know and what you can do under pressure.

And it’s exactly what our 3-month course is designed to close.

The Honest Truth About JLPT Prep

Preparing for the JLPT means studying many things: reading, listening, kanji, vocabulary, grammar. If you could study all of them deeply with a teacher for three months, that would be ideal.

But most of our students are working full-time. They don’t have unlimited hours. And a course that promises “master everything from zero and pass in three months” may sound appealing, but for adult learners with real schedules, it’s rarely realistic.

So we made a deliberate choice about how to spend class time.

Knowledge First, Strategy Second

Our course assumes you’re building your kanji, vocabulary, and grammar steadily outside of class. We support that with structured homework and brief in-class quizzes (about 10 minutes) to check understanding. But we don’t spend valuable class time memorizing kanji one by one.

Because passing the JLPT isn’t just about knowing things. It’s about applying what you know when it counts.

That transition from knowledge to performance is where many learners get stuck. And that’s exactly what we train.

What Happens in Class

During lessons, we focus on the skills that are hardest to develop alone:

  • Timed reading practice: building speed without sacrificing comprehension

  • Listening strategy: knowing what to listen for before the audio starts

  • Efficient time allocation: so you’re not rushing through the last section

  • Understanding common trap answers: learning to spot them before they catch you

  • Analyzing why one answer is more correct than another: the kind of nuance that’s difficult to figure out on your own

Beyond weekly lessons, the course includes two online mock exams with individualized feedback, two bookable 1-on-1 sessions with the head teacher, and ongoing coordination between teachers to adjust guidance as you progress.

Small Classes, Real Community

Each class is limited to 6 students, so questions get answered immediately and no one gets lost in the crowd.

Every class has its own Slack channel where students share questions, discuss homework, and support one another throughout the three months. It becomes a study group that actually works.

Our classes are fully online, which means they bring together learners from different countries. In one course, two U.S.-based classmates discovered they were registered at the same test center. They met for the first time on exam day and later celebrated together. We even received photos.

Studying for the JLPT can feel like a solo grind. We try to make it something shared.

What One N3 Participant Said

After completing last year’s N3 course, one participant shared a detailed reflection. They had taken the JLPT once before, and this time improved from 85/190 to 107/190.

When asked what helped most, they highlighted:

“Significant but relevant homework, with analysis by the instructor of areas of strength and weakness”

“Detailed explanations of strategies for specific question types”

“Discussion of nuance of similar grammar points and vocabulary words (’Why is this answer more correct than this other one?’)”

And they concluded:

“There is no way I could have passed the JLPT without the improvements to my skills and fine-tuning of my test-taking approach the class provided.”

If you’ve been studying on your own and want to turn that knowledge into a score you’re proud of, this course is for you.

Three focused months. Strategic preparation. A small group of people working toward the same goal.
