I always try to create a relaxed and welcoming environment where students can feel at ease. Since language is closely tied to daily life, I make an effort to understand the situations in which students want or need to use Japanese. I guide lessons by asking about real-life expressions they’ve heard, situations where they wanted to speak Japanese, and what they’d like to learn next. I also love incorporating insights about cultural differences and how they shape language—turning those into fun, meaningful discoveries that we can explore together.

Hobbies
Watching movies, reading books, making coffee (I used to work as a barista in Australia and love practicing latte art at home on my days off), playing with my 2-year-old daughter, and recently, baking—I just started taking a baking class this month and hope to turn it into a long-term hobby!

I often choose by author—favorites include Keigo Higashino and Kanae Minato for mystery novels, and Genki Kawamura. I also recommend Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi—it’s an easy and enjoyable read in both English and Japanese!
Anime
I don’t watch many, but I’m a fan of Attack on Titan.
