Teaching Philosophy

Supporting Life in Japan: For students who have just moved to Japan and feel overwhelmed by the language, I offer lessons that focus on everyday situationsโ€”like shopping, going to the doctor, visiting city offices, or getting a haircut. Even complete beginners can feel at ease, as I can also teach in English. My goal is to help learners gain the practical Japanese they need to live more comfortably in Japan.

Building Confidence: Everyone feels nervous about making mistakes when learning a languageโ€”Iโ€™ve felt the same way while studying English. Thatโ€™s why I always try to create a safe, encouraging space where mistakes are part of the process. Through positive, constructive feedback, I help students feel more confident using Japanese in real life.

Marine Sports: Iโ€™ve only tried diving so far, but Iโ€™d love to hear from people who have done freediving, kitesurfing, or windsurfing! There are many types of diving tooโ€”if youโ€™ve dived before, Iโ€™d love to hear what kind you enjoy and your favorite spots.

Solo Travel: I enjoy learning about the local people and culture wherever I go. Iโ€™d be happy to swap stories about travel memories, unique experiences, or even the challenges that come with traveling alone.

Wine: Lately Iโ€™ve been into red wine, especially full-bodied types. If you have recommendationsโ€”wines or wine bars. Iโ€™d love to hear them!
