Thank you to everyone who applied for our recent High-Advanced (超級) pilot classes! We held two sessions (morning and evening), and both featured thoughtful, engaging discussions.

Does This Sound Like You?

At the advanced stage, many learners find they can speak Japanese, but still feel unsure about how their message lands. You can say what you want to say, yet your thoughts don’t always feel organized. Your explanation may be logical, but it sometimes drifts too wide, making it harder for the listener to follow.

This class is for learners who are ready to move beyond simply being able to speak Japanese, toward using Japanese with clear intention.

What We Practice

We work with authentic articles as a starting point for discussion. Through that process, we focus on:

  • Selecting information based on the topic and context, deciding what to include and what to leave out

  • Controlling the flow of your explanation: its order, depth, and focus

  • Engaging in discussion productively: summarizing key points from others, expressing where you agree or differ, and responding in ways that move the conversation forward

The goal isn’t to learn more vocabulary or grammar. It’s to use what you already know in a more natural, flexible way, depending on the situation.

This class emphasizes awareness of intention and structure in spoken Japanese, helping you communicate more clearly and effectively. It also lays important groundwork for the High-Advanced level, where even more nuanced expression is required.

Who Should Apply?

This class is a good fit if you:

  • have things you want to say, but feel your conclusions are hard to follow

  • want to improve how you say things, not just what you say

  • know plenty of vocabulary and grammar, but find it difficult to use them naturally

  • want to practice speaking in ways that help discussions move forward
